Too many problems
Published on January 26, 2005 By Weaksid In Community
I just wanted to post that I decided to deleted my Alien Chrome Firefox skin off of Wincustomize till I can fix the bugs in the install. I thought I had it fixed this last time but it didn't turn out that way. Each time I fixed one problem, another showed up, I also understand why I didn't see the problems. I'm testing my file on my other computer since it's not set up the way I have this one set up. Once I have it fully figured out, I'll resubmit it.

Well, here is a path I might take.

It looks like I might just start all over with the second layout of files and just transfer what I have done over to that where they need to be. Plus I'm going to add a couple more edits to the skin that I came across that was bothering me that I didn't skin yet. I have no clue how long it will take me either to get that far. Today is already going to be a busy day. But I'll try my best to get it in the new format and see if it works.

I want to say Thanks to those that tried it out at least and put up with my problems.

Take your time, a working skin late is better than a broke one early

For those that wanted to see this work, here is a update.

I redid the file layout. I managed to get it to skin the toolbar without any problems. I'm still having issues with the toolbar using the previous skin's icons. I'm asking also over on the Mozilla forum on help while I work on this. Once I get some of these bugs worked out of my theme, it will even be better then what I was trying to post.

Here's the update:

With some help from the forum I was at, the icons now show up and after I changed the layout of the files, the background skinned. I am alot closer now to have mine posted again. I'm just making some edits to the theme, then I'll repost it.

Last post before I submit my skin.

I just have to fix the icons in the help area then it will be posted.

I also want to give credit to Pikachu90000 over at the Mozilla forum for their help. I wouldn't of had this fixed this far if they didn't help me on the install and content files.
