Trillian 2.0 Beta Testing

On August 1st, Cerulean Studios released a public beta testing of Trillian 2.0 pro. This is currently only open to members paying for 1.0 pro.

.74 Client: Came directly from their site - "Those customers currently using Trillian .74D - our next release will be focused on updating our free client. This build is currently in testing and will be released after Pro 2.0."

This is a program you should at least look at the tour for. Just click on the link and view it.

Small list of new features: Multi Lang, can connect to a unlimited number of mediums(examples:AIM, Yahoo, etc), interface enhancements, and much much more.

Personal Note: I downloaded and read all on this version. It's a remarkable program. They did a major face lift on this. If you're a member, I would suggest downloading it. Just remember to back up your old files in a zip or something to recall if needed. I haven't ran into any errors yet.

I have the new beta since a few days ago and it does address many of the issues people have had with Trillian. Though things like compatibility with the new MSN6 are obviously missing due to its release being too close to Trillians update. Though that may come eventually through the use of plugins. One big plus for many is support for Jabber in the update. It also runs faster.
If you mostly stick the basics when IM'ing or IRC'ing, then Trillian 2.0 is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

I'm using it now. It had a few problems with some skins.

I'm using with the PiXOS skin which works fine except for some color issues in the main Trillian window. I edited the colors.xml file and now it looks fine.

I really like how thye added the URL grabber directly into it rather than making its functionality skin-dependent.

I figure we won't see many of the advantages until the final is released and skins/plugins/etc. are developed to use the pros of this new version

By what I got out of it, fallsapart is right. They said that they still didn't put everything that they wanted to for the final in the beta. I would like to see this weather thing that I saw about. With the plug-in you can put your mouse over the person's name and see what the weather is there. It's only for the US and there is probably one other thing that has to be set up. But I don't know of any other messenger that can do that.

I would love to see their final release soon.
